Coligny Plaza
Located on Pope Ave at the south end of Hilton Head, Coligny Plaza offers visitors 60 stores including apparel, gifts and specialties, accessories, bicycles and rentals, services and offices, a pharmacy, a hardware store and ten kiosks. There are also 19 restaurants ranging from bakeries, sandwhich shops and cafes to bar and grills and specialty restaurants. Each store and restuarant has its own hours. There is also a theatre that is open Monday through Saturday. Besides shopping, special events for all ages go on throughout the year. Coligny Theatre, originally named The Island Theater, first opened its doors in 1972, and was Hilton Head Island's only theater for many years.
In 2001, the owners of Coligny Plaza decided that the plaza needed a movie theater, and that if no one else wanted to operate one, they would. The theater was renovated, renamed Coligny Theatre, and opened for business on March 1, 2002 as an "art house," mostly showing films by independent producers, and aimed at an upscale adult audience.
Regular showtimes are daily at 4 and 7 pm (no 7 pm Monday show) and Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:30 am.
